Tarantula Hunting

This group, together with yours truly, went up the hills to look for some tarantulas.

Stuart is having a closer look at a Trapdoor Spider's (Liphistius desultor) burrow.

Kate is taking a photo of the trapdoor with her cellphone.

Close-up view of the "trapdoor" of Liphistius desultor.

This is what came out from the burrow - Liphistius desultor.!!!!

There is still some traces of mud on its legs.

Chilobrachys andersoni collection

I was looking through my collection of Chilobrachys andersoni prior to feeding them. I came across many newly moulted ones and took some pictures of them. Many of them turned out to be males.
This photo shows part of my C. andersoni collection. (Top photo)

All these have moulted into males.

Let's take a closer look at them. You can see the exuvia as I have not remove them yet.

I have been involved with hunting for tarantulas, photographing them in the wild, taking studio shots of them and also keeping them. I'll be posting lots of photos of tarantulas in my personal collection.

For starters, here are photos of a wild caught Chilobrachys sp. Penang ( Female ) and Chilobrachys sp. Penang ( Male).
